ALCADEV Lumad School looks back to when Angel Locsin visited their community in 2009!

Angel Locsin has been an advocate and humanitarian for more than a decade now. Before social media became a big thing and picked-up her relief efforts done in big scale, the actress has been volunteering and immersing herself in some communities in Mindanao.

In 2009, the actress visited the Alternative Learning Center for Agricultural and Livelihood Development (ALCADEV) in Lianga, Surigao del Sur.

On their official twitter account, ALCADEV posted throwback photos of Angel Locsin while she's immersing with the community with the caption that reads:

"Mahusay yan si Miss Angel Locsin dahil hindi lang puro salita, kumikilos at gumagawa.

Bumisita sya sa paaralan namin noong 2009 para makipamuhay at alamin ang kalagayan ng mga komunidad ng Lumad.

May puso para sa kapwa!

On a published article from inquirer.net, Rico Pareja who was then a third year high school student shared some details that he can recall when Angel visited the community. On her visit, the actress assumed the name "Ate Jean" to hide her celebrity status never did she know, the students knew that she is Angel Locsin, the actress. Students ride along and pretended that they don't know her.

One of the students also shared that Angel Locsin acted like she was just an "ordinary person" not a celebrity or anyone famous. She washed her own dishes and doesn't want to be treated as a visitor. They respected the actress' request to be treated normally and not Angel Locsin, the actress even though deep inside they wanted to show that they are her fans.

It has been more than a decade since her immersion but the community she visited clearly remembers how she's been of great help to them. And while other people are busy discrediting her efforts to help, there will always be someone who will come out to share how the actress has affected their lives and helped them.
