Tawag ng Tanghalan is one of the biggest amateur singing competition here in the Philippines, and currently a segment of the noontime show It’s Showtime that first aired on January 2, 2016.
After all the contestants sang their best songs, Noven Balleza, Froilan Canlas and Sam Mangubat made it to the top 3. Their last performance is 3 songs that was combined as medley for their piece to win the grand champion.
Sam Mangubat was already a YouTube celebrity of sorts, uploading song covers as part of an online duo called “Sam & Jun.” But he quickly became a darling of the singing contest thanks to his boyish charms and impressive showmanship. He sang 3 Bruno Mars all time hits in medley, one of the hosts in the show said that he’s not performing as a contestant instead he most likely perform a live concert.
